Colophon · About Dispatch23

An independent reading list, kept by hand.

Dispatch23 is a web directory run in the manner of an editorial periodical: each site is filed by section, reviewed against a plain set of criteria, and recorded in the order it was accepted. The current edition holds 834 entries across 22 sections.

The directory was established on a straightforward premise: a hand-edited list of live websites, organised by section and free of algorithmic ranking, remains a useful reference. Each entry carries a domain address and a brief description. Nothing more is represented.

Submission is open to any website that meets the filing criteria: the site must be live, the description must be plainly worded, and the submission must be made in good faith. There is no charge to submit and no charge to browse. Paid placement does not exist in Dispatch23.

Entries are reviewed each edition. Those that become unreachable, that change their terms materially, or whose descriptions prove inaccurate are quietly pulled at the next review. The directory is not a frozen archive; it is kept.

Dispatch23 does not rank, recommend, or endorse any site it records. The directory is a filed index of addresses, organised by section. The reader is asked to exercise their own judgement before acting on any entry.
